New World Record Set for Longest Time Playing Poker
About a year ago one man decided to put his body to the endurance test. Dave Cain got a spot in the Guiness Book of World Records by playing poker for 72 hours straight at the Foxwood Casino in Las Vegas.
A year later, that record would be broken and a new champion of poker endurance would be born. Paul Zimbler decided that it was his turn to take a shot at the spotlight and put himself in the pages of the record books. Playing for a solid 75 hours straight during the World Series of Poker event in Europe, Zimbler not only walked a way with a new record but about 30k GBP for various charities for his efforts.
Over the course of his run, Zimbler decided to play heads up poker online. He took on nearly 200 unique opponents, including some prominent names such as Annette “Annette _15″ Obrestad, Phil Hellmuth, and Mike Mutasow.
At the end of the triathlon session Zimbler was suffering from severe sleep deprevation and exhaustion and his play suffered tremendously in the waning hours of his record breaking attempt, but he held strong, supported by the staff and several patrons of the casino, Zimbler was pushed to the finish line by his supporters.
The world congratulates Zimbler for his efforts as do the charities he helped raise money for during his record breaking poker session.
